Nintendo Switch Future : Hardware Revisions and More Controllers on the Cards

Nintendo has started discussing the future of the Nintendo Switch, with more hardware upgrades and more controllers in the pipeline. The Nintendo Switch has not yet been launched, with one month still to go. However, the company has already started discussing the future of the Nintendo Switch and the upgrades to the hardware to be made over a period of time. The Nintendo Switch is a popular gaming console produced by Nintendo, a global gaming leader. There is console as well as portable playing options available. Future Life Cycle In a discussion with Time, Shinya Takahashi, the Nintendo director and Yoshiaki Koizumi, the producer of Switch, discussed the future of the system. They also discussed future revisions and upgrades to the hardware, with the possibility of a Nintendo DS or a 3DS system. According to Takahashi, players who had bought the Nintendo gaming console traditionally would consider the new Nintendo Switch as a home console that they could use for a longer period. As for users who have been buying the conventional handheld console, they might be ready to upgrade when a new version is released. Updates The hardware upgrades made to the original Nintendo DS were the DS Lite and the DSi as well as the DSi XL. There were also some revisions in the 3DS, namely the New 3DS and 2DS. Changes in Controllers Takahashi has also talked about the possibilities of some hardware changes with respect to the Joy Con controllers that are detachable. According to him, it was possible to remove them from the system. This offers the chances of attaching something else in their place, he said, though he did not discuss this idea further. System Acting as Bridge Koizumi emphasized that the Nintendo Switch comes as a hybrid device and considers the system as one that merges the earlier separate portable with the home segments. Earlier, players would play some things on the home system and other on the handheld device. Nintendo aspires for the Nintendo Switch to offer a system that can bridge these two and offer a steady system that the player is constantly using, according to Koizumi. Lifespan and Upgrades According to the Time interview with the Nintendo Director and Switch Producer, they have designed the Switch in a manner so that players could use it in a way that suited them the most.  As the controllers can be separated from the system, there are several options for expanding the capabilities of the controller and also options for what can be connected to the system. Different people have many ideas regarding what could be potentially connected with the system. It...

Pokemon Go Update Lands on Android and iOS, Makes Minor Yet Useful Changes

Pokemon Go had a huge craze back in the days but it’s still relatively popular according to Niantic labs. The new update brings some useful changes to the game on iOS and Android platforms. The game’s development is complete on both platforms which now allow Niantic labs to focus on making minor changes that would matter to the gaming community. The developers in their blog confirmed that they will be rolling out Android version 0.55.0 whereas iOS users will get upgraded to version 1.25.0. The game will remain fairly the same because it is not a major upgrade and will not have any user interface, gameplay changes or anything similar. Based on the patch note released by the developer, Pokemon Go Android version will now load much faster during the initial launch. Previously, the Android version of the app had frequent issues when it was unable to connect with the servers when launched. Users had to wait for a great deal of time before it finally opened up and allowed them to catch their favorite Pokemon creature. The Pokemon Go Plus accessory will now readily be accessible, according to the blog post. The new improved iOS version of the game now has integrated support for wheelchair when the user is wearing an Apple Watch. Niantic announced the app for the wearable device last year and ever since its initial launch, they have been doing all possible tweaks to make it suit the Watch. People who are physically challenged will now be able to enjoy catching those creatures and the app will detect their movement by making using of the iOS devices available. Niantic labs had always been cryptic when it comes to updates. They don’t follow a schedule of listing the changes they make in the lab. But, this time the company has decided to let people know what they have actually changed in the game. While being relatively minor, it’s going to make Pokemon Go much better for Android users because of the faster loading times. The company has plans to launch a companion device and a major Gen 2 Pokemon update for the app in the near future. Compared to its initial launch days, the popularity surrounding Pokemon Go has slowly waned off. It took its own time to reach players in different regions and had lots of performance issues. Besides, the innovative idea was never designed to launch years but did its job by bringing people out of their home to catch...

Pokemon Go Promotes Physical Activity and Keeps You Healthy

Games are blamed for making people sedentary as they remain glued to their screens for hours. But the recent gaming sensation, Pokemon Go may not be the same as it can promote physical activity and keep people healthy. Pokemon video games series launched by Niantic for both iOS and Android has become a huge hit with more than 130 million downloads worldwide. It is one of the most used mobile apps in the history of the app store. Pokemon Go is a free to play game that allows users to search for different species of Pokemon in the real world. Since it is an augmented reality-based game, researchers from the Bayor College of Medicine in Texas have reported that it can have potential health implications too. The game uses GPS technology to figure out the location of the user and enables them to catch their favorite Pokemon creatures. It lets the user to explore various parts of the world by stepping out of their seats. As they move around, the smartphone vibrates to let the user know that there is a Pokemon near them. The player can catch it by throwing a poke ball from their touch screen. The game also has Pokestops located in popular locations such as malls, national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, museums and other public places. This has created a buzz as a huge mass of people strive into public places looking for Pokemon monsters. Researchers reported that active video games (AVGs) can be fun to play with added health benefits. Pokemon Go keeps the player on the move without a feeling of doing physical activity. It encourages the player to keep walking for miles in search of the monsters. Since walking while looking at your smartphone is dangerous, the game allows the users to keep it away from their eyes by sending notifications in the form of vibration when they are near a Pokemon monster. Pokemon Go promotes physical activity without any intention and indirectly keeps the user away from being sedentary. This type of design may help game developers to create new games that are not only interesting but healthy too. Researchers have planned to conduct further studies to find potential health effects of...
